Season Review 23/24
2nd May 2024
Following the conclusion of the 23/24 season, we would first like to thank all of you, our supporters, for your constant support throughout the duration of the campaign. We would also like to extend our thanks to all of our volunteers, staff and committee for their hard work once again during the season, their contributions, dedicated time and effort does not go unnoticed - thank you!
Chairman Wayne Stephens has also reflected on the previous campaign and has provided new updates about plans and visions for the future, saying;
“After reflecting on the season over the last couple of weeks, we can honestly say that based on the expectations set out for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, the club continues to build and be on the right track.
The board are delighted that our management team and background staff lead by first team manager/coach Lee John and his assistant Dr Dylan Blain, will continue in their roles and continue to push the club back to where we belong, the Cymru Premier.
After seeing the Cymru Strategy set out by the FAW last week, there are exciting times ahead and we as a club want to be a part of it.
One of the big points to come out of the strategy was the overhaul of the reserve league, resulting in the creation of an Elite U23’s league to commence in the 25/26 season. This will be compulsory for all Tier 1 and 2 clubs and will not only help to develop players to play at the highest level in Wales but give an opportunity for local talent to continue playing beyond our Academy at a high standard. This will also provide our management team with options for team selection.
Work has already started off the field to ensure that as a club, we are in a position to deliver on the field, as a Tier 2 club and more importantly, a Tier 1 club.
The board and committee will continue to work tirelessly in achieving our ambition for full control of Stebonheath in obtaining a long term lease and we are already in discussions about renewable energy at the ground I.e solar, heat pumps and new LED lighting.
These are exciting times and very soon, we will release information about a new membership scheme and how you can get involved with the Town’s Club.”
The club would also like to extend its thanks to our sponsors who supported us during the 23/24 season.
